Joani Wardwell is currently Wieden+Kennedy’s (W+K) global communications director, a position she has held since 2006. Prior to joining W+K, she served as the global corporate spokesperson for Nike Inc. for seven years. Before to moving to Oregon, Wardwell spend 13 years in Washington DC working in public affairs and media relations. During her time there she spent 3 years in the Clinton Administration as a press officer in the White House Press Office. From 1992-2008 Wardwell also served as the media director on the Commission on Presidential Debates. In 2012 she also acted as a senior debate advisor to the Obama campaign. In 1992, she founded the Bosnia Children’s Fund, an international non-profit organization that created and manages four orphanages located throughout the regions of the former Yugoslavia. Joani Wardwell currently serves on the board of directors for the Portland Children’s Museum (Board President 2010) and The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation.​
